Choppers and planes battled the blaze as it arrived during the afternoon hours and spread into Voutsara during the night. It may take several years to restore the area's natural beauty. Routsi has a restaurant-bar in it, but no hotel or hostel. Routsi is a very relaxed village and it has a seventeen stable livery. On August 6 they organize a celebration for their main church Agia Swthra.
