Barnett Glacier (70°59′S 167°30′E / 70.983°S 167.5°E / -70.983; 167.5) is a large glacier in the Anare Mountains that flows east along the south side of Tapsell Foreland into Smith Inlet, northern Victoria Land. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) after Donald C. Barnett, USGS topographic engineer, a member of USGS Topo East and West, 1962-63, in which the expedition extended geodetic control from the area of Cape Hallett to the Wison Hills (Topo West) and from the foot of Beardmore Glacier through the Horlick Mountains (Topo East).  This article incorporates public domain material from the United States Geological Survey document "Barnett Glacier" (content from the Geographic Names Information System).
