(August 2010) New people Feyenoord started the 2009-10 season with a new coach called Mario Been. He was manager of N.E.C. before and in the past he had played for Feyenoord and has been an assistant-coach of Bert van Marwijk, the current coach of the Dutch squad. Because of some money-donors they could buy three new players: Dani Fernández of N.E.C. Nijmegen, Sekou Cissé of Roda JC and Aleksandar Ignjatović of FK Borac. Seven players are on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam: Kermit Erasmus, Michal Janota, Jordao Pattinama, Voitek Machek, Norichio Nieveld, Mitchell Schet, Tobias Waispray and Kevin Wattamaleo. Pre-Season Feyenoord started the pre-season very well by winning 5-0 against SC Feyenoord. After that game they won 2-0 against SC Barendrecht and 12-0 against BSV Limburgia. The last game was the game for the Herman Teeuwen Bokaal. It ended at 2-2, but VVV-Venlo was better at the penalty-shoot-out. Feyenoord is currently on a training in Portugal. There they will practice against the Portuguese club Sporting Portugal. Start of the 2009/10 season At the 2nd July Feyenoord will start the new Eredivisie-season against Mario Been's old club N.E.C. Nijmegen. Feyenoord doesn't play Europa League or Champions League. In the second round of the KNVB-Beker they will play against Groene Ster or Harkemase Boys.
