Guwahati Bangalore Express is a tri-weekly super fast express train run by the Northeast Frontier Railway zone of the Indian Railways between Guwahati, Assam and Bangalore, Karnataka. Train numbered as 2509/2510 it covers the entire distance between the two station of 2992 km in 54 hours and 20 mins. 2510 Bangalore Express departs Guwahati every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 am and reaches its destination Bangalore on every Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday at 11:50 am.It runs through states of Assam,West Bengal,Bihar,Orissa,Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu and Karnataka covering important stations like New Bongaigaon,New Jalaiguri,Malda Town,Kolkata(Howrah),Kharagpur,Bhubaneswar,Vishakapatnam,Vijaywada,Chennai reaching Bangalore. On return journey 2509 Guwahati Express departs Bangalore City Junction on every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 11:30 pm and reaches Guwahati on every Saturday,Sunday and Monday at 5:50 am. On way back it covers the same stations. The train consists of both AC and Non AC accommodation. It is made up of 1-2 tire AC(A-1), 4-3 Tire AC(B-1/B-2/B-3/B-4), 12 Sleeper Class(S-1 to S-12), 1-Pantry Car, 2 General and 2 SLR coaches. The total length of this train is 23 coaches. Sometimes one or two high capacity parcel vans may be attached to it. Usually departs from platform 7 at Guwahati and platform 4 at Bangalore City Junction. The train is hauled by a number of locomotives which are as follows: Guwahati-Howrah: WDM-3A of Howrah Diesel Loco Shed; Howrah-Vishakapatnam: WAP-4 from either Howrah Electric Loco Shed or Satragachi Electric Loco Shed; Vishakapatnam-Chennai Central: WAM-4 from Vijaywada/Arrakonam or WAP-4 from Erode/Arrakonam Electric Loco Shed; Chennai Central-Bangalore: WAP-4 from Erode/Royapuram/Arrakonam Electric Loco Shed. The same is for the return journey as well. This train reverses once at Howrah Junction, then at Vishakapatnam Junction and finally at Chennai Central. This train is considered to be one of the most important train of NF railway and on this route and lot of preference is given to this train. The demand of this train is high as well and usually most of the tickets are sold out in a day or two of Advance Reservation Period. Lot of people like traveling in this train. The pantry service is also quite good in this train.
