In January 2010, Regals F.C. merged with the 2009 Dynamo Alliance Cup winners, Agua Nacida of the Primavera League. On April 9, 2010, the National Premier Soccer League introduced[1] Regals F.C. as the thirty-fourth team to join the league and the first team to join the Texas Division (Galveston Pirate SC the second, Corpus Christi Fuel the third, and FC Tulsa the fourth). Pirate SC, Regals FC, Corpus Christi, and FC Tulsa would have made up the Texas Division[2] of the National Premier Soccer League and was scheduled to begin play in the 2010–2011 season that would have started in October 2010 and continued into March 31, 2011. The Winter League would have complemented the already existing NPSL Premier Season which runs yearly from April 1 – August 1. The team hired Agua Nacida’s Miguel Landaverde as the club’s coach. 2010 Season Regals FC currently boasts a 49-17-4 record through September 13, 2010. Notable achievements include a 2-1 victory over Veracruz FC to clinch the Copa Alianza Verizon Cup. The team also made semi-final appearances in the Mundialito and 9th Copa El River tournaments. Regals FC hold a 4-2 preseason record against National Premier Soccer League teams. Change of league The team originally intended to play in the inaugural 2010–2011 NPSL Winter season that would have begun in October 2010 and continued into March 31, 2011. When that league was postponed[3], the team instead became one of the founder members of the Southern Premier Soccer League.[4] Supporters King's Kru is the official supporter group of Regals FC. The group joins in post-game gatherings after home matches at Buffalo Wild Wings in Shenandoah. Fans are able to meet some of the team members and have the chance to win prizes as well.
