Before the start of the 2007–08 season Chiefs bought back their own product and Tshabalala was used as the team’s first-choice left-wing. During the 2008–09 pre-season, coach Muhsin Ertugral began to occasionally employ the left-footer in the centre of the midfield. [1] It was widely reported that Siphiwe was on his way to England after being spotted on a Trans-Africa flight to Heathrow, initial thoughts linked him with African magnet Stoke City, Tshabalala looking to make his move to the premiership and believes ol' Tony Pulis could really help his career. International career He made his national team debut in a friendly against Egypt on 14 January 2006. Tshabalala was part of the South African squad at 2006 African Nations Cup, 2008 African Nations Cup and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. On 11 June 2010, gaining his 50th cap for South Africa,[2] he scored the first goal of the 2010 FIFA World Cup against Mexico in the 55th minute, followed by an elaborately rehearsed celebration similar to the macarena. The game went on to finish at a 1-1 draw.[3] International goals This section does not cite any references or sources. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources.
