Contents 1 Geography 2 Demographics 3 References 4 External links // Geography Kingman is located at 39°58′2″N 87°16′43″W / 39.96722°N 87.27861°W / 39.96722; -87.27861 (39.967143, -87.278601)[3], on Indiana State Road 234 about 2 miles west of U.S. Route 41. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²), all of it land. Demographics As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 538 people, 218 households, and 136 families residing in the town. The population density was 659.2 people per square mile (253.3/km²). There were 237 housing units at an average density of 290.4/sq mi (111.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 99.07% White and 0.93% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.19% of the population. There were 218 households out of which 28.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.5% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.2% were non-families. 31.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.17. In the town the population was spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 11.2% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 101.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.7 males. The median income for a household in the town was $28,438, and the median income for a family was $36,875. Males had a median income of $29,250 versus $22,273 for females. The per capita income for the town was $12,815.
