It is located in the French-speaking Bernese Jura (Jura Bernois). Geography Rebévelier has an area of 3.6 square kilometers (1.4 sq mi). Of this area, 59.4% is used for agricultural purposes, while 40% is forested. The rest of the land, (0.6%) is settled.[2] Demographics Rebévelier has a population (as of 31 December 2009) of 48.[1] As of 2007[update], 5.9% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 30.8%. Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (66.7%), with the rest (33.3%) speaking French. In the 2007 election the most popular party was the SVP which received 64.1% of the vote. The next three most popular parties were the CSP (14.2%), the CVP (7.7%) and the SPS (7.4%). The age distribution of the population (as of 2000[update]) is children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 36.7% of the population, while adults (20–64 years old) make up 53.3% and seniors (over 64 years old) make up 10%. The entire Swiss population is generally well educated.
